"We are injection molders.
Can we use WPC material in our process?"
Injection Molding is poised to become a very high growth area for WPC products as
sustainability gains more focus. Special blends are available to allow
flexibility for mold flow, enhanced physical properties and at the same time reduce
raw material costs in many cases. Applications include the automotive, appliance
and building industries along with other growing custom market areas.

"Our WPC system is limited to producing one material type, but we are interested in other niche markets. Can Polymera help?"
The Polymera material preparation system is flexible, with the capability to add
up to six ingredients to the major polymer and fiber portions. The blending operation
is able to combine up to six additives, precisely metered to formulation parameters.
This automation and flexibility allows Polymera to provide a variety of compounds
to meet specific market objectives. Polymera can either supply compound for use
in your own extrusion equipment, or provide extruded profiles to your specification.

"We have several extrusion lines running a variety of thermoplastic materials. Can we run WPC, too?"
Think of the extruder as a pump, melting and delivering a raw material to the extrusion
tool. Often, you can utilize your current equipment with modifications for wear
resistance to get started. Cooling is typically done with water bath or spray. Cutting
equipment, capable of cutting plastic products, will cut WPC materials. WPC offers
you a wonderful opportunity to expand your product offering without expensive capital-intensive
upstream requirements.

"We use wood in an application around water and encounter performance issues. Can we use WPC?"
Ultra low moisture absorption is a key advantage of WPC products, making them ideal for applications where they are exposed to moist or wet environments. By way of example, major entry door manufacturers use WPC in both the sill and frame products as a replacement to wood, effectively eliminating a major source of deterioration in a wet environment. Door manufacturers can, therefore, increase service life and warranties on their product.
